BookMyRide has been helping taxi, limo and chauffeur companies take direct bookings — without commissions and without enterprise pricing — since 2008. Today, more than 250 operators across Portugal, Spain, Morocco, the UK and the US run their business on our platform.
BookMyRide started in 2008 in a two-car garage in the Algarve. Our founder was running a small airport transfer business and getting quietly bled dry by two things: phone-only bookings that dropped every time he was actually driving, and commission platforms that took a bigger cut of every fare than his own hourly wage.
The dispatch software he could find fell into two categories — spreadsheets, or enterprise systems built for 200-vehicle fleets with $2,000 setup fees. Nothing was built for the operator with three cars, two drivers and one shot at making it work.
So we built one. A booking widget any operator could embed on their own site in an afternoon. Local payments (MB WAY, Multibanco, Bizum, CMI) instead of forcing customers through Stripe-only checkouts. A hosted booking page for operators without a website. And a price that a one-car owner-operator could actually justify — starting at $5 a month, with zero commission on fares.
Eighteen years later, that principle hasn't changed. Every feature we ship is measured against a single question: does this help a small operator keep more of their own revenue? If the answer is no, it doesn't ship.
Real feedback from active BookMyRide operators.
"We switched from a commission platform to BookMyRide and stopped giving away 20% of every airport transfer. The widget went live on our WordPress site the same afternoon."
"The AI receptionist alone paid for the subscription in the first week. It answers at 3am when I can't, quotes the fare, and books the job — I just wake up to a full calendar."
"As a one-car operator I never thought I could look this professional. Branded booking page, SMS confirmations, card payments — all for less than a tank of fuel per month."
Losing weekend and late-night bookings to booking.com aggregators taking 25% commission per ride.
Deployed the multilingual booking widget on their own site with MB WAY and Multibanco payments enabled.
Corporate clients complained the old WhatsApp booking flow felt unprofessional versus international competitors.
Launched a white-label booking page with Bizum + card payments and automated SMS confirmations.
No website, no card acceptance, tourists paying in mixed currencies with constant no-shows.
